Are Gen 1 and Gen 2 center consoles the same?

Is there any diffrence between a 1st and 2nd generation center console. I am talking about the one between the seats where the shift knob, brake and ashtray are located.

Trivial, useless info:

The Gen 1 part is listed as PF42 *** depending on the color.
The Gen 2 part is listed as PF25 *** depending on the color.

Of course the parts manuals use the same image...

Thanks Tom for taking the time to look it up. I am getting ready to try and cover some of my interior parts in red leather and found cheap a gen 1 "arm" console to practice on. But before I buy it I just wanted to make sure it would fit my '01 GTS.

Wont the gen II have window switchs?

The switchs are in the little plastic thing that goes around the stereo and Climate controls stuff, and not in the center console itself.

They look the same to me. I thought about buying a Gen II one in black when I redid the interior in my 95, instead just had a local apholstry shot cover it in leather.
