I'm in the process of buying an FE, and was considering supercharging, then I thought, for about the same amount of money, a person might be able to pick up a used Gen IV engine that will make the same HP as a supercharged Gen II. Will the engine mounts transmission etc. interchange?
Are Gen II, III, and IV engines interchangeable?

Not without extensive modifications to the wiring and computer. Not worth the effort. Just S/C or turbo the FE if you are looking for more power.
