Just wanted to see if anyone had some suggestions on a place where it's safe/sane and cop free (as much as it can be I guess) to do some 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs. Any local tracks other than Laguna and Infeneon?
Well 1/4 mile you can take a trip to Sac Raceway. Probably a hour drive for you and no worries about Cops. Its usually $35 for session. Check webste for details. Thunderhill is also probably only a 1 1/2 hour drive, but its a road course and most track day providers charge $ 250 a day. Theres lots around us and even auto X events monthly.
Though not safe or legal, there are plenty of open LONG straight awyas up in the hills in deserted areas that you could practice your launch techniques or maybe a abandoned parking lot. But you'll have the most fun and learn the most if you just take it to the track.
