I'm trying to pull the trigger on an exhaust. I'm looking hard at the ATRO system. Does anybody have one installed, ever heard it, experience with it, have a sound file, etc type info. I've used magaflow ****'s on other cars & swear by them & that's the type they use, so I'm thinking about giving this system a try, but hate to do it without any input from a user.

Thanks.

Dave.

Dman,

RBLong just installed our exhaust system this week. here is what he said about our system. "Used a dremel - made small hole as Robbie told me when I bought my stuff - worked like a charm! All back on and took her for a drive tonight - sound great, but I will know for sure once I get the other mods on this weekend." The link is http://www4.forum.viperclub.org/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=784131&an=0&page=0#Post784131 Bruce Long's email is [email protected]

Here are other comments and links from our customers.

"Hi Rob
I think there was about 35 vipers,5 corvettes 1 racing Ferrari, and 4 Gut's by Ford.I had a better time than last year and that was hard to believe. This year I moved up to intermediate.I felt like I was the best in the group,I was passing everyone each time we went out.My racing line through the autocross were right on.I also had about 4 people come up to me and ask about my exhaust .All different people ask the same question , your car was the best sounding car on the track. I told them Atro Racing installed it"

"Hi Robbie
I installed the Bellanger headers for the sound not for the extra power and eliminated the cross over pipes and add the high flow cats and Atro racing exhaust.I've never had the powder coating chip peel or come off,it looks like the day I put them on.As for the heat Atro Racing heat wrapped my side pipes which kept my sill cooler .I also did a computer chip upgrade by DC performance which came with a 180 degree thermostat which also keep engine cooler.I did these mods so I didn't have to put the heat shields back on.I haven't had any heat related problems. Personally I like the modification it made to my car.It will make your car sound louder, which I wanted ( It got rid of the UPS truck sound out of my car ).Just for the record, everytime I go to the Viper days at the race track People come up to me and say I have the best sounding car out on the track. And that is what I wanted .I hope this helps."

Do some research here and on Viper alley. Lots of info. I personally like Corsa. You will find out what most choose and like and exhausts that most dislike. Try distributors like partsrack.com, they are a site sponsor or call Dan at DC performnace for recomendations.

Buy a product that has proven the test of time, not some rebranded crap sold by some guy surfing the internet in the basement of his parents split level in virginia.
The search feature is your friend, why buy from someone who didnt know squat about vipers a few months ago...

give me a few minutes and I will tell you how I really feel!

I've got the Corsa sys from JonB he is the man the year matters future upgrades may matter. JonB knows vipers better than just about any vendor out there and his prices are also the best

Call JonB @ Partsrack and he'll explain all the options to you. Then make a choice.

JonB's forgotten more about Viper exhaust systems than any other vendor has learned.

Use the "search" function... that is the politically correct way of telling you to "do your homework".. you'll see why we all tell you to go w/ JonB.

Ok guys - here is the deal - most of you know I bought the Atro Exhaust, plugs, thermostat, heat kit, and upgraded DC ECM (and yes I have caught hell about it - but I am learning). I finished all installs yesterday and drove a few hours. Bottom line is the products I received were high quality, mostly parts that can be purchased from several other vendors. They all worked as advertised. The exhaust does sound as advertised.

With that said there are two statements I will make -

1) There are no installation instructions for the pipes. ATRO has you download the Corsa instructions, which I thought was pretty unprofessional to use another vendors support. The pipes are not hard to install, but ATRO should have their own instructions for the pipes if they want to be in the parts business.

2) I believe by making some calls and investigating with other vendors you can purchase some of the ATRO components cheaper on your own.

All and all I am by no means unhappy with the performance of anything I purchased from ATRO, but if I had it to do over knowing what I know now I would have pieced it all together myself.

One more note - Anyone can build their own pipes a lot cheaper than purchasing from any of the so called "exhaust system" manufacturers. After all you just need some high flow cats, a couple of mufflers, some stainless pipe, some clamps and tips.

I agree with RBlong that its pretty easy to build your own system. My buddy has tried about 5 different configurtion. While some sounded good at WOT or different rpms, they were a little quieter. But they all had alot of droan.
The Corsa is the only exhaust Ive personally heard that didnt have a bad drone while driving. Again my vote is for Corsa, may not be cheap as building your own, but the sound and quality is there.

Finally got it !

Hold on a sec. Is this guy a fraud? I just checked his website out. Not one of his items are original. It is all cut n paste. I have never seen such a hack job on a website. Even his instructions for "his" products are links. [*****]???? This guy should be banned from the VCA. He is doing a disservice to the Viper community.
If not then I have a old barn in back of my house. I will setup a new vendor store also. My markup will only be 15% over what you can get it at JonB,CHuck, DC, etc.. Will call the phone company on Monday to get a 800# for you guys to call in and get scammed....

Now you are on to something! same company buys skip-shift eliminator from SUMMIT, marks it up 20%, and charges close to $100 for install. It takes less than 30 seconds from the time a car is jacked up to install that thing, but his post previously claims that his time to 'write an invoice' counts in the billing.

Guys, if I may: I have never bought anything from Atro and already have vendors that I personally prefer dealing with (JonB, etc.). That said, I think that unless somebody is conducting their business illegally or ripping people off (never filling paid orders, etc.), that attacking them personally is out of bounds. How they have their business set up can certainly be subject to review/criticism, however attacking somebody personally is strictly against website policy.

<u>Everybody</u> sells other people's stuff. Summit, Pep Boys, PartsRack, AutoZone, Atro, Zen Garage, etc. All mark it up from what they paid - or they wouldn't be in business. Some just mark it up less than others. If Atro is going to his local Kmart, buying individual parts, and then selling "package" deals as his business then so be it. Either he will succeed or he won't. Feel free to constructively criticize his customer service, his website, his instructions, or his prices. Assuming you have first hand experience as his customer. Calling him a "*********" is not only way out of line, but against website policy. Period.

The bottom line is that good businesses succeed, poor ones fail. Throwing arbritary insults out accomplishes nothing. The ONLY person on this thread that has an "expert" (customer) opinion is <u>rblong</u>. And his opinion certainly speaks for itself. The rest are just dog-piling. Please give it a rest.

In an effort NOT to dogpile, I would like to ask "Racer" Robbie a question I have asked MANY times before, but never received a reply to.

Exactly what operations are performed in your advertised "blueprinting" of a hurst shifter?

Thanks, guys, I really appreciate the input. I wanted to do the Belanger exhaust, but when I went to do it, I found you have to do the headers too, no catback only option, bummer. So ...

My car is a 2003 and went [email protected] bone stock a few months ago but no dyno base run yet.

I'm going to call JonB today too, he's given me great advice back on my previous RT10, I planned on giving him a call before I made a final decision.

FWIW, to his credit Robbie has been very responsive to my inquiries &amp; discounted his price when I asked if he could. As a potential customer he's been a good guy to deal with, but others' opinions as actual customers / users is what i was looking for.

rblong, thanks for the description, can you tell me what exhaust setup you ctually bought, did you do the cats too? Have you heard other systems you can compare it to? Again thanks for the info to everyone.
