Attention MA and NH Viper guys! Racing, comedy, and drink!.. come along!

Tomorrow I am heading to the drag strip with at least 1 other Viper and a few Corvettes.

We are going to race from 6pm-8:30pm, and then we are heading to Andover for a comedy show, drinks, friendly conversation and car-guy BSing.

I encourage anyone who is nearby to go along - we do this most weekends and its always fun. The thread is over on the Corvette forum - located at... http://www.corvetteforum.com/ubb/Forum26/HTML/023482.html . Post over there and let us know you're going.

Or, if you dont want to go to the comedy show, you can just go to the track - I will be there at 5:30 ready to race. After the comedy show, we will almost certainly filter into the bar at the restaurant for even more enjoyment

To anyone who is interested, this isn't an "official" Viper event - just some of the car guys in the area going to the track and then out for a comedy show and some drinking (coke of course). Any of you are welcome to attend - lots of people are going and it's not like we all know each other - so even if you have never gone out with any of the Viper/Vette guys in the area, come along and I bet it won't be the last time you go.

We have a 98 GTS and a 00 GTS so far - let's get those Vipers out guys!

And Tony - no excuses - I expect to see you there

I would be delighted if you were to come. I have 3 helmets and I will bring them all, so you can borrow one of mine if you like. New England Dragway will require a helmet at the least, and I believe they will also require a top. I am not sure if they require a hardtop or not. I just called but the track manager is not there until tomorrow morning.

I hope you will join us for the comedy show too - will you be able to make it? I need to let the other guys know how big of a table to reserve. Tony, I hope you will go to the comedy show also!

To everyone - I will need to know by the end of the day today how many are going to join us at the comedy show, so that we can reserve a big table and not have anyone left standing

Here's the plan...

Track gates open at 5:00pm. I will be there right around 5:30pm. Racing starts at 6pm. There will be a bunch of us racing. Most will be leaving the track at 8:30 to make it to the China Blossom restaurant in Andover, MA for the show, which starts at 9:30 until 10:30 or so. After, it is pretty much a given that we will file into the bar and have some drinks

. You can just go to the drag racing, or you can just go to the comedy show, or you can go to both. If you are going to both, just get to the track as soon after 5:30 as you can - we are all going to drive down to the restaurant together.

If you are only going to the track, it is New England Dragway in Epping, NH. Take the Rt. 101 West exit from I-95 (right before the tolls) I beleive it is exit #2 - be sure you take 101... there is another Rt.110 right near by, but you definitely want Rt.101

. Continue on Rt.101 West and take Exit 8 and make a right at the top of the ramp - go about 100 yards to the stop sign. The track will be directly in front of you. The entrance fee is $15 if you are going to race, and $10 if you are going to spectate. The phone number of the track is 603-679-8001, in case you get lost or need questions answered.

If you are only going to the comedy show - the show starts at 9:30. The restaurant is China Blossom on Rt.125 in North Andover. Rt.125 is about Exit 43 on I-495. Or you can take the Rt.114 exit from I-95 or Rt.1 - take it towards the North Andover/Lawrence area and you will run into Rt.125. The restaurant is right on Rt.125 - easy to spot. The phone # there is 800-401-2221. We will be reserving a big table, so you don't need to make the reservation in advance - just tell them you are with the "car guys" and they will know. The cost is $12 at the door to get in.


So, if you're going to the show, please post here before tomorrow and let me know. If you're just going to the track, you can just show up.
