Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

I would like to hear from anyone who has installed the Autoform hardtop regarding its fit, finish, ease of install, and color match.

Thank you in advance,

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

Alice -

Welcome aboard! I see you have a lot of questions and I wanted to give you another tip that may help: There is a Search hyperlink that allows you to look up most of these questions right here on this site. I believe you will find previous posts (and answers) to questions about hardtops, XM radio, 3.55 gears, etc.

Mind you, this is not to discourage you from asking these questions (not at all!), but to give you a great research tool and come up with even tougher questions! ;)

Again, welcome to the Viper Nation.

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

I have been doing alot of research, posts, emails and calls about all the autoform stuff. When I get the SRT, it will get hartop, front split, rear wing and side splitters.

From my research, the hardtop fits like a glove and does not leak, but will take 2 people to remove and put on. As far as paint quailty-average at best.

If you know a good painter in your area I would buy the hardtop unpainted, it will cost less, have it painted locally so you can control the quality paint job and alot of times large painted parts get damaged in shipping anyways.

As far as pricing, www.partrack.com was by far the best.

Thanks Sneaky Pete.

Which of the Viper rear wings/spoilers do you like.

I did not see wings/spoilers for the SRT-10 at Partsrack. I know Jon fairly well by now. I just ordered an exhaust and air filter setup.

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

I do not have my SRT yet! Was going to get one, then broke my clutch leg in six places, so have put it of until full recovery. The prices can only get lower on used car which I am looking to buy.

Its either the autoform or the official mopar wing and front spliter shown below, but I am leaning toward the autoform package.

I have the complete mopar performance catalog in PDF adobe format if you want a copy. send my your email:

Thanks. I was hoping that someone made a rear end treatment along the lines of the forthcoming coupe.

Your input is much appreciated.

ALice, I have all the Autoform parts on my car, they look great and work. Go to thier website for pictures. The silver car on their website is my car. You won't be disappointed with the fit and finish. Autoform website is www.autoformgroup.com. Let me know if you want other picture and I can send them directly to you, or look down the thread list for another thread and you can see other pictures of my car. Welcome and enjoy the ride, it gets better every day.

Steve:

Your silver SRT-10 is incredible. I think that the side paint really sets it off.

My highest commendations.

Steve, car front is so bad ass with hardtop and front spliter.

I think thats the fader stripe, like a vinyl tape product. around $300.00 for both side. its just vinyl, if you dont like it or get scratched just peal off.

Steve, where did you get the side fader and can confirm the cost..

Fader tape? Nuts. There goes my plans for a spray can from Home Depot.

Seriously, it looks very cool.

Would like to know how that is applied. It is a perfect complement to the body parts.

Alice, I believe someone posted a picture a few weeks back with the fader graphics on a red SRT-10. I think the fader looks best on silver or yellow, just my $.02.

Brandon:

I defer to you. I cannot see how that would work with red. I do know that the Red SRT-10...needs "something". It is too spartan...not certain what is needed.

A pink Barbie graphic?

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

Alice,

Barbie graphics, I thought that was for the special edition c6 vette. :D On a more serious note, you might want to look at some of Skip White's threads. He is doing some work on weight reduction on the SRT-10 and removing the crossover exhaust that helps with the cabin heat and improves sound.

I have seen a few pictures with stripes in white, silver, & black on red Srt-10's that look good. Since I have red, I too am interested in something to add an interesting touch.

Brandon:

Are you recommending that I put vinyl stripes on my SRT-10?

Wonder if I can get a Firebird emblem to coordinate.

What about those vinyl headlike covers (aesthetic wise)?

If you have a link of the cars with the various stripes on a red car, please post or forward them. Much appreciated.

Alice,

No, I am not recommending anything. I was trying to be helpful to a new Viper owner. Since you don't want my help you can search them for yourself.

There have been a few threads on SRT's with stripes (with pictures). A search could unearth them.

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

ALice, the side graphics (vinyl)are my design and I have given the distribution to Parts Rack and Autoform, contact them for pricing but I think they are around $250.00. As you can see they look very cool on the Yellow special addition. I did see a red car at VOI with the fader graphics and they looked good but others have their own opinion. That car was in the front row of the group shot from Saturday morning. If you can find that shot you might get some idea of what they look like on a red car. Let me know if you have questions.

Re: Autoform (or anyone\'s) SRT-10 Hardtop

Steve, Joe and Chris:

Thanks so much. Of all Vipers in stock configuration, I like the blacks the best (reds second best), but once you apply graphics, it changes the order of color preference for me. I really like the silve with graphics applied.

Again my appreciation,

Alice
