Belt Change Interval?

What's the conventional wisdom regarding serpentine belt repalcement?

Mine's coming up on 8 yrs. old but only has 16K miles. Should it be changed by time or miles?

I replaced mine at 60K I think, just because it was cheap to do.

When I bought my Viper, it had 51k miles on it and the Viper tech who inspected the car recommend I change it. I'm not sure if it was the original belt or not. I would change yours just b/c of the age of the car. Like Chuck said, its inexpensize so no reason to take any chances.
