Hello...what can I say. I am a current 'Vette owner and hope to own my dream car one day after school. I am looking for a good book about the Viper going year by year with production numbers, color options, forged to cast pistons for example(99 last year I think), all the details, etc. Could someone shoot me an ISBN # or a title of a book? I have learned too much and wasted too many brain cells on the 'Vette, now it is time to start learning about the baddest car on the street!!
PS: the snake bit me when I got to drive a 2002 FE Viper, now I am hooked even more! Thank you for the time! :usa:

I gave in and ordered a "text" covering 1992-2002 made by, *cough*cough*, Road and Track. Even though I disagree with some of their previous analyses on the Viper, it has a lot of specs, performance, comparison articles, etc on the car. I will let you know if it seems to be unbiased and reliable information. Thanks ladies and gents. :D

The best info is right here. Look above at the red toolbar and click on Viper Registry. Visit each one of those pics.

Thanks ViperJoe: I found that to be very informative. I am very interested in the 99 GTS model and noticed under the build info (on this specific page: http://www.viperclub.org/menus/index_ivr.htm that the 99 was the only year not to have the breakdown by number of color options. This is why I started to inquire about other "literature" on the Viper. In general terms though I believe the 99 options were red, black, and silver.?

Forgive my ignorance, but are the "creampuffs" 2000 and newer Vipers and why?
Thank you for your patience

Wasn't it also when they went to cast pistons instead of forged?

(The forged piston engines are better suited to power adders)

The missing production spec info for 99 must be a "gatekeeper" issue. Who is that person? care to weigh in as to why the missing specs?
Thanks
