Can I use GEN4 oil filter on GEN3 ?

At my local part store they only have the GEN4 oil filter.

Can I use this oil filter on a GEN3 Viper (2006) ?

I think the new generation filter allows the oil to get throught the filter easier. It is required by the high pressure cam.

You should only use the SRT specific filter, not the Mopar one that you can get at Walmart or other places. The SRT engineers explained why in one of their threads. Chuck Tator can supply them and you get a 20% discount if you're a VCA member which of course you are.

How? Remote filter mount.

Just use the right mount with the correct threads.
