Car Wash Cracked Windshield

Well I went through the spray wash. Figured while it was doing its thing I would wipe down the interior and save some time and effort. While I am wiping down the console I hear a crack like a rock hit the windshield. Didn't notice anything at first but after the rinse started I had a "nice" 6" L shaped crack driver side right 8" to the left of the VIN.

What a bunch of crap!

It is 81 degrees out and mostly sunny.

I might expect this during the winter but in summer weather, you gotta be kidding. There goes $500+ P away.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this common ? Or am I just the lucky one in a million?

Not sure how the rock hit it or whatever hit, but when you started to rinse with Cold water on a warm day it took off and exaggerated what was already there.
