Well, Did the cat delete thing a few weeks ago and in all honesty, Viper sounds like a Dodge truck without a muffler...plus the resonance is back which I really dislike. Have the Corsa cat-back so it was a pretty straight-through exhaust system. SO being the inventive guy that I am. Ordered two DynoMax 14" "mufflers" to go where the cats used to be. Haven't fired her up yet (just finished the install and its 11PM) but should put the "tune" back into the 'ol girl.

Hope it works for you...Must have been the Corsa that along with the delete made it unbearable for you...removing my cat only increased sound a little bit with the rest of the system OEM.

Let us know how you like it !

Dynomax 3" Race Bullets are what come with the Belanger set up. Very deep sound. Exhaust pipe is exhaust pipe. Any good muffler shop should be able to bend it up. I think it's the headers and mufflers which give each system the particular sound they have. Belanger deep. Corsa raspy. It's all personal preference. I like the deeper sound

I deleted my cats and i have a Borla catback and it sounds AMAZING! Nice deep throaty sound. The Corsa's are too raspy for me.

Can Vipers be too loud?

Yes, when you get anti noise tickets for driving it on the street.

I have the cat delete on my Viper with the Corsa 3" cat back and I think I could easily get a ticket for anti noise. I asked a policeman what he thought and he said he wouldn't give me a ticket, but he wasn't sure about his fellow officers.

Sir Larry Macedo is sending me similar mufflers to the ones in the first post so I can still make plenty of noise, but have a much better chance of not getting any anti noise tickets.

Wouldn't an anti-noise ticket mean you're car is too quiet? :)

Just fired it up in the garage (with the door open :nono: ). Seems to have toned down the sharp crackle. Idle is now a nice deep pounding rythmn. Revs have a much more sophisticated sound vice brutish unrestraint. I'll be curious as to the sound under load on the road....but I expect it'll be :2tu: just right.

Be careful, there is a reason why you pay so much for mandrel bent pipe. If you go to a muffler shop, they will most likely use crush bends, which kills performance and effects sound.

If the ricers don't get pulled over for their fart can mufflers, Vipers shouldn't be pulled over for an exhaust half as loud.

I need to carry a camera in the car from now on. Car seems to attract "ricers" at every stoplight. It would be one thing if these ricers had a sohpisticated and well engineered set-up, but they are just a bunch of punks with "fart cans" ,torched springs, and [******] mismatched primer fiberglass body panels on all corners. I simply hit the "ignore" button which really seems to piss them off since they are all about getting atention (or something I suppose). Anyways, just back from a road trip to check the exhaust out on the road. Sounds just like I wanted it to. At WOT it still screams due to the straigh through nature of all the components. At idle or normal acceleration a lot less "noise" while retaining an air of OHMYGOODNESS aka dignity to the car. Now I get the grins and smiles again vice the sour looks (ricers notwithstanding).

Last night I went Vipering and the nice policeman followed very close behind me all the way to the city limits...

...He was parked by the side of the road and I woke him up when I drove past him.

A different policeman followed me last night. He finally figured out I had a radar detector and knew he was there, so he turned off his radar and dropped way back then slowly came up on me again and turned his radar on so he could discover I was still driving 5 MPH under the posted speed limit.
