Cats Removal

I can remember some posts from the past regarding removing the cats on a stock exhaust system in a '99GTS, but can't remember the comments on sound level and/or tone changes or comments on power increase. Also, if you do this, is there a modification available to trick the O2 sensor so the "check engine" light doesn't stay on all the time? Tryed to access archives, but no luck! Thanks.....

I know there is a company that sells the caps for the O2 sensors, I will try and find out tomorrow, I know the car will be loud as hell if you have engine work done, if not I have heard a car that has headers exhaust and no cats, and it sounds real good like it has a cam.
