The check engine light came on in my 2002 RT/10 (Paxton car) and it threw a 304 (misfire) code and 1296 (air fuel metering) code. I think the problem I have is the air fuel metering code. Seems like it is going into a limp mode and the car will not run right until I burn the excess fuel by running it on the highway. Does any know what is wrong? Anyway I can find out what part need to be fix/replaced? Has anyone has this problem before? :dunno:

Just checked the manual and it says 1296 is "No 5 Volts to MAP Sensor". Description of diagnostic trouble code is "Loss of a 5 Volt feed to the MAP sensor has been detected.
