Not quite accurate. here is the wording from the article:

Even as Chrysler considers selling the Viper brand and carries on serious talks with General Motors concerning a possible merger, the Dodge Viper is Chrysler's new superstar despite being its most expensive model, with the ******** track-focused Viper ACR essentially sold out, according to Chrysler vice chairman Jim Press.

"Essentially sold out" is not "sold out".

Essentially sold out is awesome since the 09 year has just started! There's still 10 (?) months of sales left for 09. Viper sales continue unabated also means GREAT! And the article states that overseas sales are good, despite economic problems "at Home".

I can't imagine better news, unless the economy turned upwards for North America. Haven't heard GM passing on any good news. They're cutting back on vette production and rumors of ZR1 being discontiuned have the vette guys on this forum saying that Vipers are stopped - NOT.

Is Motor Authority the Vette guys? Ted you may not be aware of this but there are HUNDREDS of guys that own both Vipers and Vettes, why in the world would someone claim Vipers are sold out just because they own a Vette?:dunno:
That makes absolutely no sense at all!

If they are selling ACR's, they are making some money.
I guess they need to start making more of them if dealers and buyers are lining up to buy them and start making some money for the company.

It's too bad that all of Chrysler didn't make money like the Viper line does. Unfortunately, Viper is tiny and the $100-150K that MAY be the selling price is only a 1 month loss for the rest of the company as posted in the news.

Maybe we should look at the 1 billion per month that GM loses and be happy our brand losses are nothing compared to GMs?

The money is pouring in on them .Lets see out of 1200 2008s made approx 400 are still sitting on lots unsold and were into 2009.On the VCA classifyd dealers are advertising into the holdback and the future of the model is at risk.

Well hell if they could sell 10 more Vipers a month the whole company could break even. I don't understand why they would even be trying to sell the company or even the Viper line as a 1.2 to 1.5 million dollar a year loss is peanuts, imagine what the profit will be when they cut 25% of the executives!

Actually, you are off base on more than a few points...
