CNC machining

Ive a buddy who has opened his own custom bike shop and he has a CNC machine. im goin to go over and check out his place this week and start with designing a bike. can this CNC machine also be used to my advantage for my viper? (im thinking; heads, billet valve covers, and every damnn misc part i can make if i can do it)

CNC machines are great,they do what takes 16-30hrs labor in 2hrs and can be programed for many applications and there lyes the key.Programming can take more time and material of hit and miss than one can imagine,once a program is to the designers needs then the rest is gravy but it is far from as easy as you would think.The time it takes to invest on a particular item there would have to be a pretty large market to make profitable.The best thing about this process is once you have what you want in a program it will never vary.

The actual CNC machine whether it be a lathe, verticle mill, horizontal mill is only part of the equation. Tooling, fixturing, CAD/CAM programs and a competent CNC machinist/programmer are the other parts. Although a good CNC machine is a good investment, other things are required to make it usable for a particular application.

I want one of those!!

I use to progrom these things. Basically you have to design it in your head, then the computer, then make a prototype. I use to do it with plastic before I did any actual work to make sure the tolerences and everything was correct.

I could be dangerous with one of those and a water jet cutter!!

so to do a set of heads, where would i get the specs and tech info to give to the shop to do the heads?
