Was in Sears and saw that the OBD2 scanners are on sale for 50 bucks, thought I might pick one up but that got me wondering I know those scanners were for 96 > cars so can you use it with a 1994 Viper too, or do you have to get something else? Just curious.

Something else. Gen I cars are OBD I. I *think* you turn the key to on-off-on-off-on-off-on. If you have any codes, it will flash to reveal the codes. Call Chuck Tator to be sure.

Ok thanks guys! I knew the off/on trick from another thread just thought I'd pick up a scanner if I could use it on the RT10, thanks again!

I have the OBD 1 scanner for my gen 1 and it will tell you all diagnostics including live data. Will
also allow you to clear codes by a reset option. Scanner is dirt cheap on Ebay due to lack of demand.

Some fairly inexpensive scanners come with both OBD I and OBD II compatible cables and programs. Search Actron, Innova, etc.

Any model I can use today for a 94 viper?

Was planning on buying the innova 5512 but they say it doesn’t work.

I bought and autoxray ezlink but came blocked for Chrysler pre96 and don’t want to waste more money on thinks that doesn’t work.

I want to go to the one that works but neither want to pay 2500 for the refurbished or used drb3
