Cone Inserts

Just wondering if anyone can tell me about the exhaust cone inserts. I checked past threads and can't seem to get any information. I 'm interested on what they do to the exhaust note and if it decreases HP gains?

I just want to be prepared in the event I find my current install too loud? No matter how much you read about systems guys, and I've read a lot , nothing will prepare you for turning that key and hearing your new install for the first time.

Had vortex cones in my full belanger setup, took them out when installing FJO wideband. The car is definitely louder and raspier at idle and WOT. I personally like it better w/o the cones

It quieted it down a good bit. My car with no cats was too much to handle. I'd put them closer to the headers though. I had them installed just before the tips, and it made a whistling sound.

In stalled them with my Corsa Track system. Quieted system down significantly. Probably cost me a few HP, but overall a valuable improvement.

I installed them in my Mopar Race setup, just before the mufflers. They lowered the volume noticeably and also made the tone less droany and raspy, just nice and deep.
