Cooling system hoses

I'm in the process of installing the new headers that I got and I was wondering if anyone has wrapped the cooling system hose with refractory material for heat issues. Seems kinda close to the headers ?

Just about every hose and line in my engine compartment is wrapped with reflective materials.

You might want to follow the factory design and use the manifold/header shields that were provided. If the factory ones don't fit, I believe Daniel Cragin at DC Performance, a vendor here, has better ones for fitting aftermarket headers (not cheap, though!).

Actually I am re-installing the heat sheilds on the new headers and I am also planning to heat gun the stock manifold and then the bellanger headers after install to see the difference in temperature. I will post the results once completed.

Any advise on where to point the beam from the heat gun for best results?

I will also have pictures of the install as we go through it for future users.

As for the refractory material. I am in the insulation business and I just found out I can get refractory ceramic blanket rolls in two inch strips. I will use that which is good upto 1200 degrees. We usually use the ceramic blanket rolls on generator exhausts or high temp applications. A little over kill but better safe then sorry.
