Creampuff and Headers...

Been searching for the past few days on creampuffs and if headers are worth getting. I read tons and tons of post saying that they will yield roughly 20whp (give or take). The info that I didn't see is what kind of power (if any) that it made in the low to mid range.

I have a 2000 GTS with borla exhaust, no cats, and intakes at the moment. Thinking of adding headers, more specifically Belanger headers. Does anyone have a dyno plot depicting before/after headers so I can see the overrall gains across the powerband?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I went form 411 rwhp with no cats and cat back to 442rwhp when I added 3" cat replacement pipes and Balenger headers.

How was the improvement across the powerband?

I added the mods listed below and only gained relatively minor horsepower/torque increases but its on a Mustang dyno. The car is at Woodhouse right now for a hopeful fix on the Unichip and then it will be dynoed again on the same machine. I'll post what happened from the dyno.

I didn't have the numbers from across the board, the difference was incredible.

That's what I like to hear! Just trying to convince myself that they are worth purchasing ;)

Don,
If you do it, do it soon. I've got RT 3" cats and B&B 3" catback. Been trying to decide if headers were worth it or not. I would probably go Belanger or B&B. Let us know what you think/test out at, if you do it.

rcdice,

even if I bought the headers today, can't install (or even drive it) it since the car is in storage for the winter. This morning with the windchill, it was -42 degrees celcius... yikes!

Celsius? You need to start using the Kelvin scale at this point. I feel your pain... my car is locked up in storage until spring too. Was about 15 degrees, Fahrenheit, driving home tonight. Way to freakin cold on any scale.

Anyway, if you dyno before and after, please let us/me know the results.

Bob & Don, you guys forgot the poser aspect. B&B headers made my Corsa cat back system really SOUND the way the car should. Just a side bonus for the HP increase.

Thought the poser aspect of the sound was a given ;) Did you get the 5 into 1 style headers or the 'belanger' style ones?

VIPR GTS,

Did you dyno before/after the header installation? HP increase results?

Sapp. and Silver is a great combo that has to be seen in person to truly appreciate. Very nice.

BTW, I grew up in Centerville. Ever been to Kilkare? (sp?)
