Current Paxton kit thinking on Gen II?

I know the early Gen II kits were iffy, but it looks like everyone and their brother is slapping a Paxton on the Gen IIIs and getting 700RWHP on the cast pistons these days. Has the picture for Gen II kits improved any lately, especially if you bundle it with a VEC2 for tuning, bigger injectors and Water/**** injection? Anyone with recent experience?

I have had a Roe SC on order since Feb and still no confirmation on a ship date, so I think it may be time to reconsider my options.

The Paxton doesnt require the **** injection since its got its own cooling system. I just about had Woodhouse put a Paxton on my car but I need to pay for the mods I had them do over the winter (see sig below). I think with the out of the box paxton system 7psi is about it and their website gives performance increases. I was toying with changing pistons so I could run more boost but the cost goes up as well.

I thing someone on here posted a long thread about how the Paxton blew up their engine, and Paxton left them hanging in the wind.

That's why I am wondering if there have been any improvements to the kit recently or if the addition of a few tuning aids will overcome that issue. Not sure why the GENII's should be much different than the GenIII's which seem to be going on fine these days. I do think that the water/**** injection would add some improvement over just the small Paxton intercooler by itself.

700rwhp from a Paxton on a GenIII? I would love to see the dyno #'s for proof. I will not mention names but a tuner in my neck of the woods installed a Paxton on a GenIII, a VECII and dyno tuned the car. He got 647rwhp. Cannot remember the tq. All of this was with a otherwise stock motor. I suppose with head work, exhaust, rockers, etc. it is possible. Other than that I think 700rwhp would be pretty hard to achieve.

Just going by some of the posts on the SRT10 forum, people are reporting 675-700RWHP with nothing more than exhaust. Some claiming up to 750RWHP if you push the tuning.

Weed53, I'm not exactly sure what the hold up is. Something to do with changing suppliers on the CNC machined intake manifold. I'm sure Sean is diligently working the issue, I'm just getting antsy since our relatively short driving season is almost here, but I'll probably just stick with the Roe SC assuming it doesn't drag out much longer.

My friend just got his GenIII with Paxtron. He is getting around 620rwhp.

And his dumper just spun off ... Looks like GenIII has the same issue with dumper as Gen II.

the Paxton system is only as good as the person that installs it. i can tell you for a fact the DLM gen III will make well over 700 rwhp with no other modifications. They key the crankshaft. DONT pin it or you will ruin the crank

My 97 makes over 700 at the rear wheels with the Paxton/Novi 2000 , but I have a fuel system and the VecII.

I'm that guy, but I am not alone. I won’t begin my rant again, but UNLESS they have included a REAL fuel system to go with the kit, new buyers are stuck in the exact same boat as I was. Trust me, the Paxton DIY kit is anything BUT that! A tuner can make short work of its inadequacies, but a first timer SC'er is screwed if they use this kit, as Paxton poorly supports you when you don’t have a problem, and then completely abandons you when you do.
