Dana Super 44 3/8\" vs 7/16\"

I need some advice/help. I have a 2002 RT/10 that's getting a rear end gear change from the stock 3.07 to 3.55s. My understanding is that the pre-96 vipers came standard with the Dana 44 rear differential. The 96-02's got the Dana Super 44, and in '01 and '02, the carriage bolt hole was changed from 3/8" to 7/16" in that Super 44.

I just received the gear set, and it's for a Super 44, but for the 3/8" hole. The set comes with a sleeve to make up the 1/16" difference, so the gears will fit fine.

My question is this: Will using that sleeve create any reliability issues when compared with using gears specifically designed for the 7/16" opening? The gears are Spicer brand, and hardened, so I'm not worried about the gears themselves. More about the whole package once assembled.

No speculation please. I'm looking for hard facts and experience from you techs out there.

Thanks!
