dash refinished

Last night I posted several pictures in the media section of my dash being refinished. The best method that I found to clean the "fuzzy" off the dash is a simple S.O.S pads and a kitchen sink. Buy a whole box because you will used them. Do not use lacquer thinner as it may damage the plastic that the dash is made from. Next I used Lustrekote primer, then flat black paint, and finally flat clear to refinish the dash. This paint is primarily used in the hobby industry from radio controlled airplanes and can be purchased in most hobby shops. I purchased mine at Hobby Town USA. Keep in mind this process will take a few days to do and it is a lot of work but the end result is well worth the effort and you will not have to spend $400-$500 on a new one. Note: in some of the pictures you will see where I left the factory black paint on the gauge bezels. Get it off also it will react poorly with other brands of paint.
