Differences in VR1 wheels

I am strongly considering buying Joseph Dell's used VR1s

I've added two links which show VR1 on the rear of a Viper. I know Dave's car (the yellow one) and have seen it in person and I like the look. My biggest fear with Joeseph's wheel is that they have a greater offset and will stick out beyond my fendor lip at the top. When I called Forgeline they said they only made one VR1 for the Viper but these are obviously different.

Does anyone know more about why and what the differences are between these wheels.

i own a set of 18" VR1 wheels. all 18" VR1 wheels were made to the same sizes and specs. that bein fronts at 18X11 and rears at 18X13. all of these wheels had the same backspacing and offsets. as i recall from my measurements the extra inch in the front wheel width compared to the stock 10" wide wheel is evenly distributed between the negative and positive offset. in other words .5 inch is located on the inside and .5 inch is located on the outside. i run a 315 wide tire up front and you can deifnately feel an increase in unsprung weight as a result of this. yes this does put more tire on the ground making the car looser in the corners but it also wants to track ruts real bad in the straights on the street. as far as the rear goes the width at 13" wide is the same as the stocker but the offset has been changed by 1 inch effectively moving the offset of the wheel by 1 inch to the outside. the wheel sticks out 1 inch wider than the stocker and this creates a 2 inch over all wider wheelbase in the rear of the car. all of this changes the handling of the car significantly. it is my opinion that this is a road race track use setup only and not ideal for the street. i use my VR1's for road racing only and my stockers for the street.

the only other size offered in VR1's was 19". as far as i know the 19's had the same widths, backspacing and offsets as the 18's. forgeline made way less 19" VR1 wheels than they did 18 inch wheels. the wheels that you are comparing in these two links you provided are identical in size and shape as far as i can tell. i think the silver center on the one wheel creates a optical illusion on the lip creating a different depth of perspective on the lip of the wheel. also the pic was taken at a slightly different angle.

i have a set of forgeline WC3 wheels for sale that are brand new in the box and never been mounted. this is the wheels that forgeline has replaced the VR1's with and what they recommend for road racing now. i had them built to the same size and specs as my 18" VR1 wheels. that bein 18X11 in the front and 18X13 in the rear. the offsets and the backpspacing are the same. they are fully polished and include the viper logo centercaps in black. see pic below. i paid $3,200 for them new and i will sell them for $3,000. you pay the shipping and we have a deal. Forgeline just came back. there is a difference. One's a street wheel, the other was made for the Comp Coupes. Much more offset.
