Do stoker motors need a higher octane to run properly?

We have 91 octane out here in CA. If a Viper is stroked, does it need a higher octane to run correctly and avoid pinging?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No. Now if you are going to stroke it, why not bump up the compression.....
Then you may need higher octane.

Vipernate, we designed our Lethal 750 stroker package (550cu.in.) to run on 91-octane gas. However, we can certainly tailor the compression ratio to whatever octane you plan on running. We've made just under 800hp, normally-aspirated, on pump gas, which is quite a feat! This does take careful computer tuning and our APEX-exclusive high-volume fuel injectors (that fit in the stock manifold with no external fuel rails).
If you did decide to go with a higher compression ratio, we sell an alternative to costly and hard-to-find race gas. They're 32oz. bottles of race fuel concentrate (NOT to be confused with traditional octane boost that badly coats plugs and O2 sensors and doesn't really do anything) that work extremely well, and only cost $15/can (roughly 2-3 tankfulls' worth).
If you have any questions about our package, please don't hesitate to ask!
