Re: E.T\'s - What do other people run in the 1/4?
Golden Boy,
The gears will not help your e.t. at all.
The slicks will help your e.t by about one tenth. My viper stock on pilots ran 12.0's. With slicks launching at 4500 rpms ran a best of 11.97.
The stock combination is hard to beat without doing more mods, like exhaust. I picked up 8 tenths with slicks and exhaust, and 5 tenths with pilots and exhaust. The 60' times on radials didn't improve much but the added power and torque pulled down the e.t.
If i could inject one small piece of advise. Do not change from the 3.07 gear. You will only work your tranny, and rear end harder, accelerate out of the torque band sooner through the gears, and have to put it back in should you decide to really add more power down the road. Remember that your motor is nothing like a small block chevy that requires rpm's to generate e.t. you have the gift of torque, you have more torque than horsepower, so USE IT. KEEP YOUR REVS IN THE TORQUE BAND.
