With what is going on at Daimler Krysler right now, we may never see the Viper run in any factory backed racing format again. They are cutting back advertising by $600 mill, what do you think that will do? There will be 10 Dodges runing in NASCAR this month, there is where the bulk of the money will go. Now there is talk of Daimler selling Chrysler! Why in the heck did they ever buy it in the first place? The only thing that Daimler has proved in the last three years, is that they don't know how to build American Cars, and they do not understand the American Automobile market. The worst possible thing that could happen to Chrysler happened when Daimler bought them! I hope they do sell Chrysler back to a conglomerate of American buyers, and that the potential new owners get the real "car guys" back in the fold!
Sorry for this, but I just hate to see what has happened to Chrysler, especially after what happened in the 80's when Iacocca brought them back from the dead, and they were doing so well. We will continue to see more and more cutbacks, and less effort at doing what a car company is supposed to do, and that is to design, bring to market, and sell cars that people want to buy! What a shame.
