There is probably an obvious answer to the following, but it is escaping me:

If the Viper battery goes dead while parked and the windows are up, how do you open the door (short of a brick)?

It is impossible. You must call on-star. That is why I always leave the windows down.

Just kidding.

Pop the rear hatch and reach in to the rear part of the door, there is an emergency release that is mechanical. Now if you lock your keys inside the car....well, good luck.

The more probable scenario (and the one that happended to me) is that the battery in your key fob goes dead with the doors locked and the car alarm on. Same solution (use trunk key, climb through back of car and mechanically release the door), but your alarm will probably be blaring and bystanders will probably think you are stealing the car. There is a ignition-key-activated reset lock in the center back console (as I faintly recall) that needs to be utilized before the car can be restarted. Your owners manual has a segment on this (which I had to embarrasingly read with a crowd looking at me).

If all else fails, RTFM (thats read the f***ing manual) :). At least my 2000 RT/10 owner's manual explains the procedure in detail. (Of course, I'm one of those weirdo's who actually reads the manual - didn't know I had steering wheel volume controls on my used Durango until I saw them mentioned in the owner's manual).
