My engine light came on a few days ago. The manual said it could have something to do with the emissions or even a loose gas cap. On my wifes Tundra if it had a loose gas cap the light would go off after you cycled throught the ignition 10 times.

Does the Viper do the same thing or should I have it looked at??

You can get a low cost reader for $40 at Harbor Freight. Or, a lot of the auto parts stores will read and reset the code for free.

Autozone (what it's called out here in Cali. may be under a different name where you are) lets you rent code readers for free and bring them back when you are done. It''s a pretty popular thing to do out here, they're usually all rented out... you might have better luck. And don't buy one there, they're $100+, I got mine for $40 as Purdue said at Harbor Freight.
