Less than 50 lbs would be my guess. I used to have a saleen blower on my car and the whole weight including intake manifold, and intercooler was less than 50 lbs. Its definitely worth it though :)

Paxton added 70 lbs to my Gen III. That is with an air to water aftercooler.

unless ya seriously track the car a lot, i dont see the difference. The HP has to be worth any added weight.

My lunch adds 50lbs to the car sometimes!

the weight saving in negligible. if you really want to save weight, get rid of the stereo and the AC. And the spare tire.

And the passenger seat.

I hate to be adding weight to the nose of the car.Any idea how much weight a paxton or roe add to the car. Bruce

Who cares what it adds....it's what it loses that matters.
About a second and a half in the quarter and a couple seconds at the autocross ;) Next question ?????

p.s. If one is really worried about nose weight....just add a nitrous bottle in the rear. LOL

Note I did notice more push or understeer as a result, given the position of the weight increase at or forward of the front wheels. I changed tire sizes to 295's and brought it back to more neutral. Between wheel/tire and exhsut revisions I counteracted the weight gain almost exactly. So the real effect was moving the weight to a more undesireable location (for a road or drag track).

Would adding weight to the front of a GTS brings it closer to the weight distribution of 50/50? I've read somewhere that the weight distribution (F/R) of the GTS is 48/52 or 46/54.

I would think that its the other way because the Engine is heavy and is in the front.

Most other front engine cars, yes. Howerver, the Viper is a bit different. The engine and transmission are placed further backward. The Viper is actually a mid-front engine car because the engine's center of gravity is way behind the front axle. I'm not sure if the whole engine is behind the front axle though (need to take a look).

I just looked at the specs and they are 49/51(F/R) for the RT/10 and 46/54 for the GTS.

Paxton - about 70 pounds.

Roe - also probably about 70 pounds. The whole kit is about 110 pounds but you are removing the stock plenum and replacing it with a new one plus the supercharger and the rest of the kit. To get the exact 411 email Sean and he will tell you.

With the Paxton, the added weight is farther forward than with the Roe since the Roe sits on top of the engine. Either way, and I have had a GTS with the Roe and currently have an SRTC with the Paxton, I would have the suspension adjusted for the change in weight and weight distribution. It does not take much of a change in weight and weight distribution to increase the probability of a snake bite. More weight in the front can affect your traction - and not in a good way. Also, if the brakes are stock on your GTS, get better and bigger ones - you'll need them.
