Get the clear bra, no scuffs from bra and no chips! I believe it was Jerry Scott who said that he had gotten a roll of the same material from his local auto paint supply store. I decided to do the same since the actual clear bra was something rediculous (around 2 to 3 grand, money may have grown on trees in 2000, but not today). The rolls of stuff are still pricey, but much cheaper than the pre-cut stuff. A roll of 12" x 81" 6 mil was about 40 dollars. Even if I mess up on the forming and cutting and have to buy another roll, it's still cheaper than the pre-cut stuff.

Hi!
I bought the Mopar bra and found it well done and quite easy to install, at least the bottom part. Actually found that upper part did'nt fit, impossible to install. At the moment did not notice any damage to the paint.
Don't forget that you have a big nose there and that gravel makes a lot of damage, especially travelling at speed!! My vote is for the bra.

I was looking at the clear bra also for my GTS. Here are some links if you are interested.

Stongard has a Viper kit which runs $569 and covers the hood, nose, mirrors and door edge.

Here is Clear Bra which is mentioned in the VCA archives:

I have the Mopar version and while it does fit well and appears to be a quality product, grit and dirt enter the bra through the grill cloth which then lodges down low on the sides of the fascia. There it rubs and eventually burns through the paint. I used it once, driving from Indy to CAAP and back and do not plan on using it again. On that one drive the bra created more damage to my car than the previous 6,000 miles of driving without it did. A month later I drove from Indy to NYC and back without it, (twice the distance) and didn't have a single chip.

I say Zaino it and go braless.

I agree with Mark O.Bra's are for women, but not all women. They definately do not belong on a car.Especialy a strong masculine car like a Viper.Unless of course the owner is a cross dresser too or aspires to become a porschephile. Bruce
