Gen 4 passenger airbag switch???

Can someone tell me exactly how the passenger airbag switch works in the Gen 4? Reason being I am going to add heated seat pads under the seat covers but want to make sure it wont mess up the airbag switch. Thanks for any help.

It's one of those new generation multi stage jobs and deactivates on its own, depending on the weight of the occupant of the seat.

you do NOT want to mess with the weight sensors for the pass. airbag - leave it alone. In case you have a passenger and the airbag does not work right in case ...you are fu**ed up!

I agree I dont want to mess up the sensor for the airbag. But my question is the sensor in the in seat base cover or is the sensor in the seat mounts? will removing the lower seat coushion involve messing up the weight sensor?

I tore my seats apart. Not a problem, just put them back the way you took them apart.

Sensor is under the seat cushion.

As above, pretty straight forward. Just put it back like you found it.
