Glue for sill sheilds

Can someone please tell me where I can get the glue that attaches the shielding to the sills. Mine have come off or are in the process of coming off............and I am certain it will happen to other cars.

Seems like some dealerships don;t know what I a talking about.

Yeah the warranty will cover but its a simple fix and if Dodge dealers can;t tell me what glue they use , how can I expect them to fix it correctly.

PLEASE..... This is not a general statement just pertaining to those I spoke too..........

I am pretty sure its some kind of high temp expoxy.I just wish I knew what it was called.

My passenger side came loose when I removed to put on exhaust and my Buddy (ILLSMOQ) on this board, had the same thing happen. He just stuffed his back in. SO we did the same on mine. Im sure it would come loose again,so just neatly fit it in and put the sills back on. I have no ratling and there not going to go anywhere.

On both cars they just fell off...it was probably already loose. I've always just put them back where they went and put the sill back on.

How about high temp rtv silicone?

Boy it is news to me that they were even glued to begin with!! LOL

I just put them where they should be, and the sill holds them in place.

I have a buddy of mine looking at getting some high temp expoxy. I guess this is common to a lot of the SRT-10's. I would recommend you get them back on and glued since they will rattle and you will notice them. Thats how I found out mine was loose because it rattled when the car was cold.

I use SEM Body Panel Adhesive, Rigidity: 1.... Any body shop that carries SEM will know what it is. it comes in a dual tube, black tube w/gold sticker...about 20$ a tube.

So far, I have had VERY good luck... about 6 loose sheilds glued, all with over a years worth of driving... no issues. It is black, just like OEM... in fact, it very well may be OEM, as it cannot be told apart, and has the same characteristics. Make sure you knock off loose glue and rough up & clean the surfaces before use.

No worries for me, Patrick! I have those oversize 32" MAGNAFLOW mufflers packed in tighter than a thong in a stripper's butt!! the shields have never rattled, in fact I cannot put sound insulation down there because there is no room.

Anyway, I picked up some silicone adhesive red in color and can withstand temps upto 600 degrees from a local supplier today. They use the stuff for header gaskets.

I know its pretty tight in there but after speaking to Lou at Belanger headers, he wants me to shape the shield to conform more to the sills. The shields are rounded as opposed to conforming to the shape of the sills. By shaping them to the sills, it allows for more air space. I think its a good idea especially if you have 02 sensors sitting under the shields.

Hence the necessity for the adhesive.
