Ground clearance

I read that the Viper has 5". From looking at my camaro, I'd say I have like 9" or so. I just went to 4adodge.com and compared a Viper to a Camaro and it said that a camaro has 4.9 or something. Is dodge lying or are the measurements goofy? I have 17" wheels, but that would only account for .5"

5"? Probably from the bottom of the rear diff, but from the bottom of the front facia, it's only a couple of inches.

4 inches under the chin on my ACR without being lowered the extra inch.
