I don't know that he was showing off. I drive like that everyday
I think he made the mistake of barreling through the tunnel into bright light and was not able to see that the line of cars stopped right outside the tunnel.
Stupid still, despite being able to define the mistake.

It just looks that way but they are all separate incidents. Vipers have the notorious distinction of leading all sportscars in wrecks into vans. It's because of the cold tires, bad brakes, lack of traction control, crappy stereo, no cup holder...everything except the driver. It's never the driver.
