3M-39066 ONE STEP CLEANER WAX. JUST FINISHED
WAXING MY 2002 R/T WITH THIS, I COULDN'T
BELIEVE HOW GREAT THE CAR LOOKED. I FOUND
OUT ABOUT IT FROM A LOCAL PAINT SHOP IN MY
AREA, THEY JUST PAINTED MY VIPERMANIA TOP. I
ASK THEM WHAT WAS THE STUFF THEY USE AND THE
TOP GUY IN THE SHOP GRAB A BOTTLE OF THE 3M
AND SAID THATS ALL HE USES, HAS NEVER FOUND
ANYTHING BETTER, WELL I TRIED IT AND WILL
NEVER USE ANYTHING BUT THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN.
THE COST FOR IT WAS $14 (NOT BAD). HE ALSO
TOLD ME I COULD PUT ON A WAX AFTER AND TO
ONLY USE PURE CARNAUBA PASTE WAX. IF YOU SAW
THE CAR YOU WOULD LAUGH IF I TOLD YOU I WAS
GETTING READY TO WAX IT. HOPE THIS HELPS SOME
OF YOU, IT WAS NOT HARD TO PUT ON OR TAKE OFF.
REMOVED ALL SWIRLS AND WILL REMOVE MEDIUM
SCRATCHES.

GOOD LUCK, TOM

Cool!! I was just looking for the ne Meguires wax and saw the 3M wax you are talking about. I am going to give it a try. Hopefully it removes small scratches and swirls.

Well, since you scream so convincingly, I guess we better try it! :)

i agree 3M is excellent. mothers wax after and then touch ups with detail spray by pinnacle or mothers and its an unbeatable combo; easier and with less time than zaino not to mention much longer duration. as long as you dont mind combining two or three brands, which, a true poser never does

Now see what you have done? You reminded me that all caps is yelling. I had forgotten that and thought it was just all caps, now my ears hurt again.

If he likes all caps, let him use all caps.
It really isn't yelling. It's really just all caps.

Tom,
Did you use a buffer, in order to provide enough "elbow grease" to remove swirls and medium scratches ?? If putting it on, then removing, like many waxes, and the swirls and scratches appear to be gone, then I question if they were removed, or merely filled.

Later,

Tom- I found a wax I like; Meguiar's Mirror Glaze # 16

Professional Paste Wax (carnauba wax)- Comes in a blue tin, the wax is blue in color. What I like about it is it dries clear, so after your done buffing it out your not chasing that white dust.

You can't get it at Auto-Zone etc. Have to go to an automotive paint supply.

...Luck

ok first things first no caps is everyone happy now,
i hope so. now when i applied it , i did it all by hand.
never used a buffer at all, to chicken, lol. a little
goes a long way, keep that in mind, more is not better
just much harder to get off. it took me at most 2 hours
if that to wax the entire car. took some pics today, waxed
car yesterday, i am going to upload them in the media
gallery and try to post them, my problem is posting them
in here, no problem getting them in media gallery, hope
it works. the car looks wet when you see it, i'm telling
ya this stuff is great, i hope everyone tries it, hell i
should call 3m and sell this stuff for them, lol. will try
posting pics tonight. take care all and hope this was
easier to read for all.

in closing, (no caps tom) LOL OOOOOPPPSS lol

Tom,

Have you tried Zaino waxes before? They are AMAZING!!! I too was a 3M and Meguires user until I tried Zaino. I used it on my 03 BLACK Hummer and was sold after I saw how it protects black paint.

We have to get together, I live up in Street and I usually have a party every year for the VCA club, last year we had about 28 vipers up at the house.

I think your kids and my kids go to the same private school in Bel Air.

See ya,
ROB :usa:

Be careful of Cleaner Waxes, some are not good for Clear Coats, as they remove very small layers of paint,(clear) that's why they call it Cleaner/Wax.

Cool. I have finally found the product after six autostores.

One question, did you use the Finish Restorer or the Rubbing compound?

Thanks,
Stu

Won't be but another 2 weeks and my Viper comes out of Hibernation and will be ready for its first wax of the year!

Re: GUYS YOU GOTTA TRY THIS

I used to be a HUGE fan of Zaino for a few years.. Not anymore...

. Car looks nice and tight but it just doesn't have that deep dark look. I recenlty waxed my Viper again with Mothers and I don't think I"ll be using Zaino again. I use 3M finish restorer also, works great. 3M products are probably the best out there. I'm done with Ziano, just seems something is missing from it. Just doesn't give that deep dark look that makes colors look oh so good... Who cares about reflections, that's what mirrors are for... FLAME SUIT ON!
