Yes, most likely Master Cylinder if it doesn't move at all, Brake boost / vacuum line going to it if moves but hard.

Gen 1 cars tend to have little power assist.
Make sure the brake booster is not leaking.
Engines that have bigger cams or lower vacuum at idle may have a firmer pedal.

I searched and searched for a new booster when mine went out, I ended up doing the "rebuild" service on RockAuto. Not expensive and not too bad for a turn around. However they gave me a different rebuilt one, because the color was not the same, but it didn't bother me because I'm not worried about preservation as much as I love driving my car.

I never heard of that as an option, especially thru RA. Post a link for people if you can. That is a wonderful option!!!

So, I didn't see it on the "parts list" like I found it originally, but I was able to go back through my history and found what it was I did, and here is the link. Not sure if RockAuto just doesn't link the service anymore, or maybe Cardone quit doing it. I did it in 2022 (is that really 4 years ago?) and it was $250 at that time.

Found this on the Cardone website:

Searched for "cardone 54-77021" on Amazon, and one came up.
