has anyone had problems with the plastic belt tensioner?

I've had these things go bad on me in the past, has anyone else expierenced this?

If you're referring to the little lead "pendulum" that's held in by a plastic bracket on the bottom of the seat belt housing, then yes. I found that mine was broken about a week ago. It looks like a really bad design to begin with. I removed it for now but if I'm not mistaken, doesn't this mean that my seat belt is now useless? It would never tighten up if I were in an accident. Also, I believe RonB mentioned that all of the GEN I seat belts are out of stock and there won't be any more.
