I currently have a Corsa cat back. I am thinking about Belanger headers and R/T high flow cats come spring. How much louder will my Vipers exhaust be? Any difference with R/T cats vs. Roe cats? Pros and cons? What kind of rwhp gain? 20-30? What about gears...3:54, and an alum. flywheel? Is the flywheel worth it?

Thanks ,Dave

I have a FE as well. Funny you should post this, my car is at Heffner's right now getting 3.55s with an aluminum flywheel among other things. Can't wait to try it out.

Looks like the FEs are getting modded.

My Belangers arrived yesterday, and there's a 3.45 gear and Mopar/Borla already here, all waiting for a Spring install.

I have 3 onch corsa, bellanger headers and R/T cats. The car sounds pretty good. Not annoying loud until you get on it. Absolutely no drone either. Im pretty happy with it.

Id say about 20-30 HP with the set up. Some people claim 50 HP just from headers but I dont know. I tend to be weary of manufacturers claims. Some people think they can add up all the HP increases from each part they bolted to their car and arrive at this magical number. I think most of the claims are assuming everything else is stock.

Thanks Guys!

I Appreciate the exhaust info. I know the 3:55 gears will give a lot more snap to the Viper, but what pros and cons about the "aluminum flywheel" ?

Thanks Guys! I know the 3:55 gears will give a lot more snap to the Viper, but what pros and cons about the "aluminum flywheel" ? Dave :usa:

Pros of flywheel:
-The same kind of 'acceleration improvement" as a gear swap, but less noticable than 3:55 gears. SNAPPY rev response, BRRRAP at idle. faster 20mph-120 mph.

-Better on-motor braking, clutch engaged! Less rotational mass to slow down, so car STOPS faster!

-Less Wheelspin on launch

-Resurfaceable, unlike OE.

-One brand is FACTORY BALANCED....less wear on crank.

Cons:
-Easier to kill it on slow, loaded launch.

-Requires more finesse to drag-launch at higher RPM.

-Some report erratic idle-cruising, slow, in traffic. Probably ISM issue here.
Just turn on A/C to corrcet most idle weirdness. Instant fix!
