Hey Guys,

I left my passenger car door open, and now the battery is dead. I want to jumpstart the car, but cant find the Negative on the battery, I can only spot the positive.

Can someone please tell me where it is?

Any metal part of the frame will do. On Gen 1, there is also a threaded stud just behind the driver side fender over the side sill.

Well, it looks like im going to need a new battery. It didnt start after the jumpstart

Any suggestions on where to order one? And how complicated is the install?

Thanks in advance

Any parts place should have one. Some people recommend Optima red tops, some don't. Just go with what you like (w/side posts). As for installation, complicated? No. PITA? Yes. Rear left tire has to come off and remove the battery shield to access your old battery. Then, just install the new battery like any other battery. Have your fob handy, your alarm will prob go off when you connect the new battery

Had the same problem. rear hatch left open, battery dead. jumped, would not start. per Chuck Tator Viper Wizard, disconnected battery negative and grounded it for a half hour. Reconnect. Started instantly, ran better than ever. Grounding removes all the codes from computer memory, car re-learns.

So does it make sense to perform this on a good running car with 13K miles?

When I just replaced the battery in mine I plugged it up to a trickle charger and then removed the battery. I think that this keep the computer from reseting. Just a thought.

98viperGTS is correct. This is the easiest way to replace a battery in any modern computer controlled car. This method also holds all the radio presets, so you do not need to reprogram.

A good battery tender/charger will shut down if there is no battery at all. Use one of these to save your presets.
