I have an infinity basslink subwoofer, and the remote wire is attached to an accessory wire in my fuse box. If the car ignition is in the ON position (but the engine is off), the subwoofer will work. If the engine is on, the basslink won't turn on.

I thought it was the fuse location, but I attached a radar detector to it, and it works with the car ignition on, and the engine can be off OR on.

Any ideas? I heard that a bad ground could create this problem... is that true?

Or, is the accessory fuse only powered enough to supply power to the radar detector, and not the remote wire, when the engine is on?

On a related question, how do I remove the headunit on a 97 GTS? On my other Vipers, the stereo just came out with two screws. On the 97, it appears that the entire dash has to be removed to get to those two screws. Is that really the case? Thanks!

You should run the remote wire preferably to the remote turn-on wire (or antenna power wire) from your head unit, with the main sub power wire to constant power. If you are running a stock head, though, that might be a problem. Not sure why an accessory lead would not give you enough power to keep the sub on if it's only the remote turn-on power. That draws like half an amp or something. Maybe try a different accessory buss.

I'd run it to the stock headunit, but I can't get it out!

Is there another accessory bus? It looks like the radio fuse is the only one...

You have to take the whole dash panel out to to get to the radio on a 96 GTS so i sure you have to do the same, and if you have a voltmeter i would check to see if you are still getting 12v on the wire after startup.
