HELP! Door won't open.

Installed the Door Popper on my Gen I this morning per the illustrated upgrades information (good write up). However, after closing the door, the door will not open whether I use the inside handle or the door popper. Any thoughts?

I'm thinking you forgot to hook up the linkage.

No, the fuse is working, the popper is popping, the door handle is moving the inner latch. Based on my research in the threads, I did not disable the lock arm to the latch and when I closed the door, the latch jammed. There is a way to trip the latch from inside the door, but I am not able to do so. Anyone?

I had my latch fail on my old 96. Had to jump in and out of the car like Bo and Luke duke To fix it, I had to take out the seat and tear take the door panel of to get to the latch to make it release. What pain that was

I'm there but can't seem to figure out how to trip the latch?? Any suggestions, photos, etc?

I too installed my door poppers on the driver side yesterday, just by remembering the mechanism of the lock rod, you may have to play with the lock and unlock switch, press ******* the unlock switch to force it to unlock the latch and click on the FOB unlock button each time. Don't know if that helps, but I believe the rod for the latch which goes to the lock/unlock switch, is the rod on the bottom that forms into a 90 degree S-shape (see pic)

For me the, the install was actually pretty simple as I had no guide to work with, I'll put something in a word doc on my installation procedures. This has to be the best upgrade for a Gen 1, now to do the Passenger side door.

Thanks to all for the help. problem solved! Sometimes it is best to leave it alone and tackle it the next morning. Popper works like a charm!
