Went to my friend's house for a friendly game of poker, but when everyone there heard I had a Viper, they all wanted a ride. Of course, I was happy to oblige but when I was giving the last person a ride down the street, my foot slammed to the floor as I pushed the clutch in and the clutch pedal stayed there! I was able to coast it back to the front of my friend's house and park it there to check out what happened. This is what I saw:

(I pulled the clutch back out so you can see the part that snapped off)

It looks like some plastic part holding it in three different places snapped off. You would think that they would use a sturdier material for a part that takes so much abuse.

Right now, my Viper is just sitting in front of my friend's house since I'm afraid to get it towed to the Viper shop to see how much it costs to fix since my warrantee just ended last month. Anyone else have this same problem? How much did it cost to get fixed? Any suggestions?

The yellow '03 Dodge let us use for the VCA autocross at Englishtown also had this problem.

Quick fix? Get a sheet of rubber, or split a large diameter hose, and put a hose clamp around it as close the to floor as you can. You'll need the rubber to keep it from slipping, and the hose clamp should keep it in place long enough to get home.

Plastic master cylinder for the clutch, held by plastic dogs. Stomp the clutch hard, the dogs break off and the cylinder goes through the fire wall.
