This is about the third time this has happened in my 08 coupe. While accelerating in second gear, at 5500 rpm, the rev limiter kicks in. I get the CEL light, another flashing red light, and reduced engine power. Any ideas why this is happening at only 5500 rpm?

Procedure Must Be Followed
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) and performing the Learn ETC routine with the StarSCAN®.

damage may occur.

May need to be flashed like Garron posted, or possibly a bad cam sensor. The trouble code will tell you
