Has anyone else noticed a decrease in power when you've been driving a while at low speed on a warm day with cone intakes with chromes tubes? Mine seems significant. As I parked the car and opened the hood to cool it off I touched the chrome tube and it felt as hot as the engine! Is anyone going back to old rubber smoothies and the air box after trying cones? How about rubber smoothies on the cones?

Many call the above pic a cold air intake, but it is actually a "HOT" air intake.

I have read where some have noted a decrease in performance,
with the type with ss tubes and where the filters are in front of the radiator

I don't have a similar set up but I have measured drops in the HP with a Roe SC. When I did the dynos the Vipers HP began to drop after a few runs. After a 30 min break, the new dyno run showed 40-50hp power gain with a Roe SC.
