Hey folks, I am just trying to get a handle on the skill level needed to install a supercharger. I am talking about a normal, 150hp one, like the roe. Is it a relatively simple bolt on, that one can do with basic mechanical skill, or do you need to be a mechanic? Thanks.

It is simple and straight forward with Sean's directions. Always available by phone too if you run into any problems. :2tu: :2tu:

Do you have to get a tune or mess around with the programing afterwards?

If you have basic mechanical skills the ROE S/C is not bad. Rewiring for the new injectors Clips and pinning the damper are the hardest part. The tuning is the key.

Installing ANY supercharger is very easy. I would rate it as difficult as installing an alternator, something like 4/10 difficulty.

However the difficulty is not in the installation but in the tuning. I would rate the difficulty 10/10. It requires a lot of knowledge and some special tools. This is why doing business with a super tuner (like Sean Roe) is a good thing.

I agree with 99 RT/10's assessment. I watched a friend of mine install my s/c. Although he is mechanically inclined, he said that is was easier than he thought it would be due to Sean's instructions. I read Sean's instructions and they were presented in such a fashion that you would have a difficult time "screwing" the install up. I can't speak for any other s/c company, but Sean Roe is very accessible which makes his s/c worth purchasing.

The program cards supplied work well. If you want to extract the maximum HP out of the setup,a Dyno and Tuner experienced with VEC2 software will be required.

This was the most time consuming part of the install for me. I recommend a right angle air drill with a swivel attachment for the pinning.

You COULD do that, OR if you waited a sec, both Paolo and Heff DIY TT's will be lurking around, and with the quality of work that goes into these TT set ups... BIG power LOW engine stress... look out blowers :2tu:
