the ball bearing and spring in the latches of a hardtop for the RT/10s? I was adjusting the length of my latches today and since I didnt know the latches were spring loaded, I lost the bearing and spring on the driver side when it popped out. THEN, while working on the passenger side, I lost the freaking bearing on that side too  . I went on and put the latches back on the top and put the top back on the car to see if it was any obvious problems from losing the bearings and spring. The top seemed to lock tight and the latches dont look like they can unhook theirself, but I've yet to drive the car. Am I ok or is the top really prone to flying off now?

If you go too fast, It will have a tendency to pop off. I had this happen running down the track! It's real hard to shift, drive and hold on to the top at 100 MPH at the 1/8 point :( Get it fixed or tape it closed :2tu:

I recently had similiar issues with my hard-top latch (2001). Another KC member and myself turned an "easy job" into work. He was able to get a ball bearing out of a quick-connect (air hose fitment). I would love to know where to shop for the spring and bearing myself...the new parts do work fine though.

If we were unable to find a bearing I was going to try JonB...that guy seems to have everything.
