How often on oil changes?

I was just wondering since Vipers use full synthetic motor oil, why are oil changes still recommended every 3,000 miles? I thought most cars using synthetic oil went like 5000 miles b/t oil changes. Is it just added protection since the motors are so big (and expensize)? I bought my car in April and did my 1st oil change at 54,000 miles about 2 weeks ago (last oil change had been at 51,015). I plan on driving it approximately 7500 miles a year or so if it matters.

i do every 3-4K miles..

the oil itself isn't much, so i'd rather be safe

What about Viper that don't see 3K in a year. Is there a good time frame to consider. should they have the oil changed every 6 months or every year?

I do oil changes twice a year(drive less than 5k a year) Spring&Fall...

I do all other fluids every other year, or to help me with remembering, I do it in the even years...
