I was wondering if anyone (Zaino?) makes a product that can buff out the small scratches in my Viper wheels?

If not, any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

I have been very happy using Zaino Process(3-5 coats of # 5) to "remove" fine scratches from '97 5-sapoke wheels!

Tim,

The Viper wheels are polished, and then clearcoated. Are the scratches only in the clearcoat, or do you mean they have gone through the CC and down to the metal?

The only way to really remove them would be to use a very fine polishing compound. I bet the wheels would be a real PITA to buff, though. It would probably be pretty cheap to take the wheel in question to a body shop, have them remove the clearcoat and re-spray. Your wheel will look like new, and shouldn't cost more than $100 at MOST.

Thanks for the info, guys. I just got the wheels today...they are a used set off of a 99 GTS. I put one coat of Zaino #5 on them already, and they look 10 times better! I will probably put a few more coats of Zaino on, and if the scratches remain, I may consider Mike's suggestion. The scratches are only in the clearcoat.

Thanks,
Tim

Just a word of warning using polishing compounds on your wheels. The clear coat is very thin in some areas. If you are not careful, you will break through the clear coat. Take it from experience
