Slower traffic keep right – it’s the law! So get that slow ass funeral procession out of the left lane! I don’t care if it is a police ****** nothing in the law makes provisions for the oinkers. Why they were on the interstate and not a state road is beyond me. But I called the cops and let them know their buddies were breaking the law. The cop on the phone started to come back with "I’m sorry you’re being inconvenienced, but…" and I cut him off with "Inconvenience? What about the danger of coming to a complete stop on a 70mph highway just so the cops can keep a procession gathered up? If they stayed in the right lane they wouldn’t be holding everybody up."

They wouldn’t even let anyone pass on the right.

He replied with, "You need to drive more carefully."
"Great" I said, "but what am I supposed to do about the semi barreling down behind me or the other idiots locking up their brakes and taking the emergency lanes?"

The conversation went on for several minutes and each time he started to say something I cut him off with my reply.

I ended it with "Your brothers are breaking the law. Who do I need to talk to?" He advised me to talk to the Chief of Police. "Thanks, I’ll call him Monday." And I hung up.

I never called the Chief but I made my point. My mistake was that the cops were county (or city, I don’t remember) and on the advice of a friend and former cop I should have called the FL Highway Patrol. *FHP for you FL boys.

Great subject line. I'm with you. To quote you out of context, "They are here to take away our freedom." and I guess they did just that.

Ya...protect perhaps, but I have seen a lot of not serving. I gave a cop a wave one time and two minutes later I was being pulled over and asked to be searched...total BS.

Here in Georgia- on interstate 85- we have an hov lane--must have two passengers to use it. Every morning I see a Dekalb County ***** cop using the lane to get to work. I'm tempted to call. John, still dispising cops.

Good job Chuck! Somebody has to let them know when they're not practicing what they're suppose to be preaching.

For future reference, don't bother speaking with the person who answers the phone ask to speak with the watch commander, which is more knowledgeable.

I don't know if others do this but when I witness a cop breaking th elaw I call it in to the state police. Next time you witness a cop run a red light or something obvious (clearly only when it is not in pursuit) call 911 and ask for the next level of jurisdiction (county or state) and report the incident with facts, times and car number. Sooner or later it will add up.

Many a time I see them hit their lights to go through a red light and then switch them off. Clearly a violation. Sometime I will get the courage to cite them with a citizen arrest (in absentia of course) with video evidence.

I agree with this guy, they will do whatever they can to help out a fellow "brother".

Good job on the call though, should be more interesting next time when you get ahold of the highway patrol. :2tu:

I am a former prosecutor and a practicing criminal defense attorney and I have to say that cops are the most lying sobs on the face of the earth. They are arrogant and are put on this earth to harrass people. A couple years back, I got pulled over because I was driving a brand new lexus and I guess looked too young to afford one. I really really hate cops!
