Is it true there will be NO 02\'s, and 03\'s will begin prod 11-01?

Hello;

I was given this info by a reliable source. 03's could start shipping late 1st qtr of 02'.

If true, Viper will start marketing cars one year ahead of actual year like other brands. Not bad, just "Different", if you get my drift.

I believe this could be true based on my source, and if you figure that parts need to be ordered in bulk by any factory, that it kind of makes sense. Maybe DC feels that the excitement for a last year GenIII Viper will be lackluster- so why not just start on 03's.

Anybody have any other similar info? I can't swear this info is true, but it comes from a very knowledgeble source.

Not true...

2002's WILL be produced (but not necessarilly full years production obviously). New color is graphite, other colors are red (of course) and yellow (same as 2001)

If you want our current body style...this will be your last chance at "the classic"!

My guess is you wont't see a production 2003 'til sometime in August-September 2002.

Get a new source, Jim ! 2002 Vipers, GTS and RT/10 orders can be configured right now in dealer computers....'02s will be built for about 6 months, from Oct 1. New colors already announced.

'03 PPVs are being built right now, and retail vehicles to begin in late '02, to perhaps be released coincident w/ VOI-7 sometime in Detroit in late Spring/early Summer '03.......

But the GTS was Waaaayyyyyyyy behind sked, and it was NOT a new car! VGX - GenIII is brand-new
